‘Church and State’ livestream premieres at Tech on Tuesday

Press release

Louisiana Tech School of Theatre’s Spring production of the dark comedy “Church and State” will live stream on Twitch from Tech’s Arthur Stone Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through May 1 and at 2:30 p.m. on May 2.

Written by Jason Odell Williams and directed by Cherrie Sciro, “Church and State” is a story of faith, doubt, politics, and heart as Sen. Charlie Whitmore, his wife Sara, and his Senate campaign team face the final days of a tight election in the middle of a tragic event of gun violence.

Church and State pulls the audience into the challenges of quick political and personal decisions in troubled times, but comedy is at the heart of the story as Charlie dares to go “off script” in his quest for truth and empathy, and Sara and campaign manager Alex experience both captivating blunders and victories on the race to the Senate.
