An officer with the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on Hwy. 3072 with no license plate. The deputy made contact with the driver and advised him of the reason for the stop.
The driver, identified as Donald Sanford, pointed to a temporary plate that was obstructed from view in the rear window. However, when the LPSO deputy took a closer look at the temporary plate, it was determined to be altered and fake.
Dispatch then conformed that the plate had no return through the state computer. While speaking to the suspect, dispatch added that Sanford had two active LPSO bench warrants and a suspended license. The deputy then arrested Sanford and seized the temporary plate.
Sanford was charged with failing to register a vehicle, driving under suspension, misuse of a temporary license plate and the two additional bench warrants.
Bond was set for $15,000.
