Garrett Malsam, of Lisbon, and Brooke Lolley, of Ruston, have announced their engagement and upcoming wedding.
Even though the couple both graduated from Louisiana Tech University, they had never met until introduced through mutual friends on a beach trip to Orange Beach, Alabama — a trip no doubt they will always remember.
Lolley is the daughter of Shannon and Memrie Lolley, of Ruston; and the granddaughter of Ron and Beth Riley, of Ruston; the late Bobby Lolley, of Hodge; and Billie Hutchinson Lolley, of Hodge. She is a graduate of Cedar Creek School and Louisiana Tech, where she received her master’s in speech-language pathology. She works at Treehouse Therapies in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, as a speech-language therapist.
Malsam is the son of Scott and Shelley Malsam, of Lisbon; and the grandson of Leon Stewart, of Lisbon; Amanda Killgore Patton, of Lisbon; Ben Malsam, of Lisbon; the late Pamela Rae Schuett, of LeMars, Iowa; and Darrell and Verna Bottjen of Bella Vista, Arkansas. He is a graduate of Summerfield High School and Louisiana Tech, where he majored in construction engineering technology. He works for Hensel Phelps Construction Company as a field/office engineer at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.
The couple plan to wed April 2, 2022, at Temple Baptist Church.
