Welfare inspection leads to fugitive arrest

Ruston Police arrested a local man wanted in Missouri at responding to a welfare check Sunday evening.

Officers went to a Robert Street address in response to a request for a welfare check about 7:15 p.m. Sunday. Police initially found a back door standing open and no response to their knocks. Several minutes later, contact was made with two men inside.

A records check of one of the men, Richard R. Hogan, 51, of Ruston, revealed he was wanted by authorities in Missouri. After the warrant was confirmed and a copy received, Hogan was arrested and taken to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.

He was booked on the warrant for threatening dissemination of private sexual images. No bail was set as he is being held for Missouri authorities.
