Ruston Police officers responded to a domestic abuse call at the Northern Louisiana Medical Center Dec. 30 and ended up arresting a Ruston man on charges of domestic abuse battery by strangulation and aggravated second degree battery.
Officers observed that a female being treated at NLMC had a cut above her left eyebrow and marks on her hands, arms and around her throat. The female stated she had been with her boyfriend, Carlos Stringfellow, 44. She said she and Stringfellow were arguing, and Stringfellow began striking her in the face. She added that he grabbed her around the throat with one hand and began strangling her. She said she was able to get out of the house and proceed to NLMC for treatment.
Officers then went to Stringfellow’s residence. Stringfellow said he was making food in the kitchen when the female pushed him over the oven. He said he then struck her on the head with a skillet and threw the skillet in the trash.
Stringfellow was transported to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center and booked on the above charges.
