Bienville male charged with first DWI

A Bienville man was stopped by Ruston Police officers on New Year’s Eve and charged with driving while intoxicated, first offense.

Two RPD officers made contact with a driver at the intersection of South Trenton Street and West California Avenue. The officers observed the driver, Timathy Anderson, 45, to have red watery eyes, slurred speech and unsteady balance. While one of the officers talked with Anderson, the officer detected an alcoholic odor.

Anderson stated he had one beer before getting behind the wheel.

The RPD officers asked Anderson to performa a standardized field sobriety test, which he performed poorly. Anderson also refused to submit to a breathalyzer test. He was booked into the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
