A Choudrant man was arrested on outstanding warrants when a Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s deputy stopped him for speeding.
Friday morning Sergeant J. P. Ayers clocked a car at 70 miles per hour in a 55mph zone near Choudrant. When the driver, John Thomas Shane Lanigan, 34, produced identification, it was determined he was driving while his license was suspended. A warrant check revealed four outstanding warrants for failure to appear in Third District Court.
Lanigan was arrested for speeding 70 in a 55 zone, driving under suspension, and the four warrants for failure to appear in court for charges of convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, failure to register a vehicle, and criminal trespassing.
Bail on the warrants was set at $90,500.
