Woman faces second arrest in June

Dubach resident Martha Jackson was arrested last week on charges of criminal trespass, battery of a police officer and resisting an officer.

She was arrested earlier this month on charges of obscenity, obstruction of a roadway and resisting an officer.

A Ruston Police officer observed Jackson walking near the East Side Mini Mart on Martin Luther King Drive in Ruston. The officer noted that Jackson had been banned from the store back in November 2021.

The officer made contact with Jackson, who stated she was not banned from the store. The officer ordered her several times to walk toward the patrol unit, and Jackson refused. She finally started walking toward the officer’s car and stating, “I’m leaving” as she began to walk through the parking lot.

The officer took Jackson by the wrist to the patrol unit, which is when Jackson spun toward the officer and hit the officer with her left elbow.

Jackson was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center, and her bond was set at $2,000.
