The Louisiana Tech men’s basketball team will get in some extra work this summer in preparation for the 2022-23 season as the Bulldogs are set to play in Puerto Rico.

LA Tech will get 10 days of practice leading up to the trip on Aug. 9-15 where they will participate in three games.  The NCAA allows basketball programs to take a summer tour every four years. ldog basekball

“We are very thankful to our administration and to our donors for making this trip possible,” said head coach Talvin Hester.  “Not only will this be extremely beneficial for our team to have additional practices and game action in Puerto Rico, it will also be a huge bonding and educational experience where they will grow closer together and create memories that will last a lifetime.”

While staying in San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico, the Bulldogs will also get a chance to experience the local culture and learn about the city’s rich history.

LA Tech enters year one under new head coach Talvin Hester.  Ten players return off last season’s roster that won 24 games and reached the Conference USA Tournament championship.  Among them are returning starters Cobe Williams and Keaston Willis as well as Isaiah Crawford who is working his way back from a season-ending knee injury.

Other key contributors back for another season are Kenny Hunter, Kaleb Stewart, Terran Williams, LaDamien Bradford, David Green and Will Allen (returning from season-ending shoulder injury).

The Bulldogs will blend in four newcomers – Quandre Bullock, Jordan Crawford, Pierre Geneste, Jr. and Dravon Mangum.
