Car crashes into building, driver flees scene

A 31-year-old Ruston man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly struck a building on Spice Avenue and fled the scene.

At about 2:00 a.m. Thursday morning, Ruston Police responded and found significant damage to an apartment building across from Green Clinic. The driver was determined to be Robert Grisby, IV, but officers could not locate him in the area.

Later in the morning, an authority with the complex told Ruston PD repairs to the building would be about $10,000 and that Grisby was in a nearby apartment.

Grisby was located and placed under arrest. He admitted crashing into the building but said his brakes went out.

A records check indicated Grisby was wanted by the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Department on three warrants for failure to appear in Third District Court. The nature of those charges was not immediately available.

Grisby was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for hit and run, criminal damage to property, and the three warrants.
