Digital equity project requests community input; event being held virtually, in-person today

Louisiana Tech University is collaborating with the Kathleen Blanco Public Policy Center at UL Lafayette, Louisiana Delta Community College, Grambling State University, and the North Delta Regional Planning and Development District on a project to gather input on the development of Louisiana’s Statewide Digital Equity Plan.

The local chance to provide input will be held from 10 a.m. to noon today at Louisiana Delta Community College’s Monroe campus at 7500 Millhaven Road in Monroe. There are also multiple options to view the event online and remotely.

This event is an opportunity to provide input on issues surrounding digital equity within the region and state. The input provided will inform the Statewide Digital Equity Plan which aims to close the gap between those with affordable access, skills, and support to effectively engage online and those lacking access, skills, or support. Collaborating on this project is an important way for the community to contribute to greater equity for all citizens.

The event will also be livestreamed at the following LDCC locations:

* BASTROP CAMPUS – 6376 Airport Road
* JONESBORO CAMPUS – 236 Industrial Drive
* LAKE PROVIDENCE CAMPUS – 156 Louisiana 883-1
* TALLULAH CAMPUS – 132 Old U.S. 65 South
* WINNSBORO CAMPUS – 2889 LA-15

Finally, participants can view the meeting remotely; a Webex link will be provided after registering for the event.
