Police respond to praying man

Ruston Police arrested a man for drug possession after a call reporting the man was kneeling in the street.

Officers responded to Larson Street Wednesday evening to find Larry Moss, Jr., 37, of Ruston kneeling below a street light with his arms outstretched. Moss said he comes to that location to pray.

A large kitchen knife was found in Moss’s waistband and two glass smoking pipes containing suspected methamphetamine and a small amount of the drug folded in a paper in his pocket.

Moss admitted to the methamphetamine and said he was planning to stop using the drug and that was the purpose of his prayer.

Moss was arrested and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
