Funeral services for Alice Frazier Stewart, age 95, of Ruston, LA will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston, LA. Pastor Amos McFalls will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Cook Cemetery in Ruston, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston.
A visitation will be 11:00 A.M. until service time at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston, LA.
Mrs. Stewart was born on March 20, 1927, in Ruston, LA and passed away January 26, 2023, in Ruston. She was a lifelong resident of Ruston and a long-time member of the Nazarene Church where she loved singing and leading worship. Alice was a woman of strong faith who loved to read her Bible and pray for those she loved. Besides singing, she loved reading, gardening and was a wonderful cook.
Alice worked many years at A&P Grocery, Lewis & Co., and as a hostess at Maxwell’s Restaurant. She is preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Myrtle Frazier; her beloved husband of fifty years Lonnie Stewart; daughters, Mary Stewart Austin (Jim) and Peggy Stewart; seven brothers and six sisters. Alice was the last remaining of the fourteen children.
She is survived by daughter LeaEtta Stewart and bonus daughter Lori Barnes; three grandsons, Todd Austin (Angela), Benji Cullins (Ginger), and Travis Long; one granddaughter, Kim Austin Adams (Kenny); several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
