A Ruston man was arrested for theft from his employer after a large sum of cash was stolen.
The Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant on West California Avenue in Ruston reported the theft to Ruston Police Monday afternoon.
The store manager showed officers a video of Torres T. Johnson, 37, allegedly taking $1,316 from off a desk and hiding it in papers he was carrying.
Johnson told officers he picked up the cash by mistake before he took the trash to a dumpster. Due to the video indicating Johnson took the money, and since the cash was not found at the dumpster, he was arrested for felony theft.
Johnson was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
