Funeral services for Mr. Bennie Edward Loflin, Sr., age 94 of Princeton, TX will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston, LA with Rev. Dwayne Monk officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Garden Cemetery in Calhoun, LA under direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.
Bennie was born January 18, 1929 in Chatham, LA to Hubert and Etna Loflin, and he passed away March 17, 2023 in the care of Princeton Medical Lodge. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Bennie joined the Navy at age 16. After serving a full term in the Navy, he joined the Air Force before returning home. Bennie moved to Natchez, MS where he met the love of his life Lee White and married her in 1953. He spent his career in the oil field, traveling from Louisiana to as far north as Canada, finally settling in Palestine, TX for 20 years. While Bennie was a mostly quiet man, dominoes were one of his favorite past times. At the age of 94, Bennie was still sharp enough to be awarded the dominoe champ at Princeton Medical Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents Hubert and Etna Loflin; brothers: Ralph Loflin, Clyde Loflin, J.C. Loflin, Bobby Loflin and Sherwood Loflin; sister Lenore; and his wife of 69 years Lee Loflin.
Left to cherish his loving memory are his daughter Linda Davis and husband Robert; son Eddie Loflin and wife Sharon; grandchildren: Brian Davis and wife Stacy and Krystal Boyd and husband Jason; great-grandson Ryder Boyd; and a host of other family and many friends.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Princeton Medical Lodge for the care and friendship Bennie received.
