LPSO announces promotion of supervisor

Sheriff Stephen Williams has announced the promotion of Detective Matthew Henderson to the rank of lieutenant and supervisor of the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.

Lieutenant Henderson has served with the Sheriff’s Office since 2012, according to the announcement. His career with LPSO began as a deputy assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division where he worked for several years, eventually being promoted to patrol supervisor. In 2019, Deputy Henderson was selected as a detective, and he left the patrol division to join the Criminal Investigations team.

“While serving as a Criminal Investigator, Lieutenant Henderson gained a vast amount of experience and knowledge in his field,” Williams said. “Henderson has led and assisted with numerous investigations of various crimes, including many major crimes, and has proven to be a team player who is very effective and dedicated to his work.”

The Sheriff added, “Lieutenant Henderson also represents the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office as an assigned member of two separate multi-agency investigative task forces in which he works on a regional level with other parish and state law enforcement agencies. In addition, Lieutenant Henderson serves as the Lincoln Parish liaison for the Louisiana State Police Fusion Center, and he is our designated public information officer, handling all press relations for LPSO.”

The Lincoln Parish Journal adds our congratulations and appreciates Matt Henderson’s commitment to keeping our community safe through his case work and by keeping the public informed through our and other news organizations.
