Two finalists announced for inaugural Juneteenth Indie Gospel Artist Contest

Two regional finalists have been announced in the first Juneteenth Indie Gospel Contest.

Cornelius Jackson advanced as the singer from the Zion Traveler Regional, while Noah Blessing will advance as the gospel rapper from the Mt. Harmony Regional.

On Saturday, May 6, a third tryout will be held at The Bridge main campus in Ruston from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Both this regional and the Friday, June 2, regional will be open to everyone, and anyone interested in registering can go to http://www.ziontravelercdc.com.

The finals will be Friday, June 16, at Zion Traveler Baptist Church, with the winner getting the chance to open for the Juneteenth Concert on Saturday, June 17, which will feature Pastor Mike Jr., Kelontae Gavin, and James Fortune. The winner will receive $1,000.

Any contestants that register will gain admission in the Industry Seminar on Saturday, June 16, at 9 a.m. at Zion Traveler Baptist Church.
