Ruston High’s volleyball squad won three of four matches over the weekend at the North/South tournament in Lafayette while senior Hannah Rollins continues to add to her kills count from the middle position.
“I’m very pleased with the outcomes from this weekend,” Ruston head volleyball coach Mandy Cauley said. “We traveled down there to play competitive teams, and we got competitive matches. I’m glad we got to play opponents that challenged us for each point so we could learn how to stay composed and battle through tense situations.
“We pushed through and won some very close sets and I am very proud of the girls.”

Ruston won matches over Lafayette Christian (25-23, 25-23), Ascension Episcopal (25-12, 26-24) and Beau Chene (25-17, 25-19). Their only loss was to Catholic High – New Iberia (25-21, 27-25).
Rollins totaled 29 kills on the weekend went with four aces. Senior middle Jade Smith totaled 17 kills, while junior outside hitter Harper Cauley finished with 17 kills on the weekend to go along with 44 digs.
Freshman setter Baylor Cauley finished with 62 assists on the weekend.
Ruston volleyball returns home to the Ruston Sports Complex for a Tuesday night matchup against Ouachita. Junior varsity will start at 4:30 and varsity will begin at 5:30.
