What better time that the postseason to learn that two athletes in volleyball and one in football have earned the Louisiana High School Athletics Association all-academic composite honors for not having a single grade lower than an “A” on their transcripts.
Senior volleyballers Hannah Rollins and Cala Wilson along with senior football player Nate Johnson were all named to the honor.

“While we are all proud of their athletic accomplishments, I think being named to the LHSAA All-Academic team is even more exciting,” Ruston High principal Dan Gressett said. “These student athletes represent Ruston High School well, and we are very proud of them. I’m glad they’re being recognized for the hard work they put in the classroom.”
All three athletes are competing in the postseason with the Lady Bearcats headed to Lafayette, La., this week for the LHSAA State Volleyball championships, while Ruston’s football squad earned the top overall seed in the Non-Select Division I playoff bracket. The Bearcats will be off this week after earning a first-round bye.
Rollins, Wilson and Johnson join cross country runners Cole Magee and Thomas Rogers on the LHSAA All-Academic team.
