The Bulldog Project announces their new Puppy Project Auction at which anyone can bid to buy a mini-bulldog that has been hand-painted by a Ruston local.
The Puppy Project features 25 puppies with each a unique design.
Tori Davis, Director of Marketing and Communication for Experience Ruston, was one of the original members to help with the large painted Bulldogs placed throughout Ruston.

“I have been a part of this project from the start in 2018,” said Davis. “People always ask how they can get one of the big bulldogs. So, we came up with the Puppy Project, so people have greater accessibility to the art.”
Each artist was carefully chosen and feature unique designs. Village in the Sky by Stirling Botts, for example, features a puppy with its head being held up by metal rods.
“We loved the idea of getting bulldogs in the homes and spaces of Ruston. Louisiana Tech plays such an integral part of our community,” said Davis. “It is the heartbeat of so much we do.”
The event will be held on Thursday, Nov. 9 at Buie Photo Shoppe and Photography in Downtown Ruston. Bidding starts out at $50 and begins at 6 p.m. Bidding will continue until 7:30 p.m. sharp.
The auction is free to the public along with snacks and music. Puppies are first come, first serve.
“We are so grateful to the community,” said Davis. “This has been an incredible way to raise funds for the community and partner with local businesses.”
