Funeral services for Mr. Marvin Lane Bryant, age 59 of Dubach, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 12, 2023 at New Prospect Baptist Church in Dubach with Rev. Ronnie Dyes officiating. Burial will follow in the Unionville Cemetery in Dubach under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
Lane was born March 11, 1964 in Jonesboro, LA to Mildred Frances Hogg and James Franklin Bryant and passed away November 8, 2023 in Dubach. He was a diesel mechanic and was an all-around jack of all trades. Lane loved to help people, especially those in the Dubach area. He was known as “Pappy” to his grandchildren, who loved to have him air up their bicycle tires and cook them breakfast after a sleepover. Lane enjoyed fishing and gardening, and, mainly, he loved to work and spend time with his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Steve Bryant; and two sisters Renee Bryant and Lynn Bryant.
Lane is survived by his wife of 36 years Sandra Bryant of Dubach; one daughter Heather and husband Curtis Dotson of Dubach; one son Justin Bryant and wife Anna of Farmerville, LA; six grandchildren: Annabell Dotson, Grant Dotson, Bentlee Burnett, Haven Bryant, Parker Bryant and Channing Bryant; two brothers Jimmy Bryant and wife Hazel of Ruston and George Bryant of Friendship, LA; one sister Debra and husband Johnny Stauter of Friendship; and a host of family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Stockton Roberson, T.J. Johnston, Clayton Key, Shelby Holland, Tristian Cunningham and Shane Davis.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM, Sunday, November 12, 2023 at the church.
