Police arrested a Ruston woman Wednesday evening after she was involved in an apparent altercation with an employee.
Kawandra M. Johnson, 34, was arrested at the Grambling Police Department after investigation of a confrontation with an employee at a Gus Lane business.
GPD responded to the business about 6 p.m. Wednesday regarding a fight in progress. The alleged victim said Johnson had attacked her when she arrived at the gym. The assault included allegedly punching the victim in the face with a closed fist and continuing to hit her until Johnson’s husband intervened.

Kawandra Johnson was not at the scene when officers arrived. She went to the Grambling Police Department about 7 p.m. Johnson said she told the victim to leave, who replied that she worked there. When the victim did not immediately leave, Johnson said she attempted to hit her but was unsuccessful because a coworker and her husband came between the two.
Johnson was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for simple battery and disturbing the peace by fighting.
