
Four well-known family physicians in Ruston have joined the Willis Knighton Physician Network to practice as Willis Knighton Primary Care Ruston. Continuing to serve the community as Willis Knighton physicians are Johnathan C. Baines, MD; Kenneth P. Metoyer MD; Shane Phillips, MD; and William P. Sanders, MD.
Prior to the opening of the new Willis Knighton building, the doctors will offer services in two locations. Doctors Phillips and Sanders will be located at 1809 Northpoint Lane, Suite 102, and Doctors Baines and Metoyer will practice at 310 W. Mississippi Ave.
Dr. Baines received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree from Louisiana Tech, followed by medical school at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. He completed a residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center.
A graduate of Xavier University in New Orleans, Dr. Metoyer moved to Washington, D.C., where he attended Howard University College of Medicine. He then completed a preliminary surgery residency at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans and a family medicine residency at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport.
Dr. Phillips graduated from Louisiana Tech University before earning his medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed a family medicine residency with The University of Alabama Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program, where he served as chief resident. He also completed a primary care sports medicine fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama.
Also a graduate of Louisiana Tech University, Dr. Sanders earned his medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. He completed both an internship and residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Tyler.
These doctors welcome new patients and accept most insurance plans.
