UL SYSTEM STATEMENT: Higher Education Prioritized in Exec Budget

“The executive budget released on Feb. 26 honors our faculty and staff who demonstrated remarkable persistence and adaptability through a year of unprecedented tumult and recognizes their essential role in realizing our potential as a state. Our faculty facilitate learning and produce research that drive economic growth, promote community health, and enhance individual quality of life. Prioritizing investment in that work sends a message: Louisiana recognizes her future is rooted in the development of her people. We are grateful to Governor Edwards for this unmistakable statement declaring we will own that future. We will work closely and collaboratively with our legislators through the appropriations process, advocating on behalf of our students, faculty, and staff to deliver this first step of a generational investment. For your future. For our future.”
