During what seems to be becoming a more and more common occurrence, there was a whole lot of shaking going on in northwest Louisiana Thursday night.
A magnitude 3.1 earthquake was recorded around 7:43 p.m. Thursday west of Blanchard, near the border with Texas. The earthquake was reported to be felt as far away as Shreveport.
It was the latest in a series of earthquakes in or near the northwestern corner of Louisiana. A 2.5 magnitude earthquake was registered across the border in Uncertain, Texas early Thursday morning.
On April 1, a 3.0 earthquake was reported west of Blanchard, and about 12 miles northwest of Shreveport. That earthquake was reported to be centered 3.1 miles under the ground.
