Woman involved in crash found to have eight warrants for arrest

A Choudrant woman involved in a vehicle crash in downtown Ruston Monday afternoon found herself facing charges involving eight separate warrants for her arrest and remained in the Lincoln Parish Detention Center on Tuesday.

A Ruston Police Department patrol unit responded to a crash at the intersection of Dan Reneau Drive and South Monroe Street around 3 p.m. Monday.

One of the drivers was determined to Heather Brook Willis, 39, of Shortstraw Road in Choudrant.

A name check reportedly done by the RPD found that Willis had eight outstanding warrants and she was arrested and transported to the LPDC.

Those warrants Willis was arrested for were for possession of Schedule I and II narcotics; possession of Schedule II narcotics; possession with intent to distribute Schedule II narcotics with a failure to appear (FTA); driving with a suspended license (FTA); failure to secure vehicle registration (FTA); failure to use a turn signal (FTA); switched license plates (FTA); and expired motor vehicle insurance (FTA).

Bond for Willis was set at $510,000.
