Lincoln Parish Schools Superintendent Ricky announced a new principal for I.A. Lewis Middle School during Tuesday night’s School Board meeting at the Central Office.
“We had six qualified applicants and interviewed them all,” Durrett said. “The committee recommended, and I also agreed, to hire Alisia Thomason as the new principal at I.A. Lewis.”
Thomason replaces Keisha Douglas, who was named last month as the new principal at Ruston Junior High School.
Durrett said Thomason had worked in the Lincoln Parish Schools System for 16 years, teaching at Ruston Junior High, Ruston High, where she has served as Freshman Academy director for nine years while also doing academics at RHS for the last three years.
“I’m very excited and honored about the opportunity to be at I.A. Lewis this year,” Thomason said. “We have a great opportunity during a very important year in students’ lives to make an impact and I look forward to working with our district personnel and other leaders in the district as we impact change.”
