Grambling water to temporarily be shut off this morning

The city of Grambling plans to shut off water supply to city residents from approximately 9 a.m. – noon this morning in order to fix a leak and install water valves that could help reduce the scope of any future shutdowns needed to be repaired.

“We had originally scheduled it for Friday but I wanted to give the citizens more time to prepare and thought Monday would be better for people like hairdressers who are often closed on Mondays,” said Grambling Mayor Edward Jones.

“The leak is at the corner of Carver Street and R.W.E. Jones Drive. But we’re also going to work on installing water valves in order to hopefully not have to turn water off for everyone whenever we need to make future repairs.”
