Chase Bank goes into lockdown for second straight day

By T. Scott Boatright

For a second straight day, Chase Bank in downtown Ruston went on a lockdown Tuesday afternoon.

A heavy police presence was found at the bank Tuesday afternoon but no further information was available.

Reports from those who heard calls about the incident on a police scanner said that it was another robbery at the bank, with the suspect this time alleged to be armed according to those scanner reports.

Karletterion Williams, 22, of Ruston, was reportedly arrested Monday evening in Grambling and charged with simple robbery (no weapons involved) of the same Chase Bank branch earlier on Monday.

RPD officials did not return calls made Tuesday trying to learn more information about the second incident.
