Grambling football hits the SWAC spotlight on ESPN3 this morning

Grambling football coach Broderick Fobbs has restructured his staff and quietly added to his roster this summer, staying under the radar as he aims for a rebound from a miserable spring football season.

The first public pronouncements on the 2021 Tigers will come today at 10 a.m. on ESPN3, as the Southwestern Athletic Conference will host its annual SWAC Football Media Day.

Tiffany Greene and Jay Walker will host the event live on ESPN3.

Fobbs and the other 11 SWAC head football coaches, along with two student-athletes from each team will be in attendance to address media about the upcoming football season.

The Tigers battled COVID-19 problems, in-season coaching staff and quarterback departures, and after a pair of competitive losses, dropped their last two contests convincingly in a painful 0-4 spring campaign.

Even before the season began, Fobbs expressed concern about the spring season but said summer additions and the experience gained by returning players in the spring would get Grambling into a very competitive posture for the 2021 fall slate.

In announcing the Media Day format, the SWAC office did not list times for segments specific to each team.

Along with Fobbs, Grambling will be represented by student-athletes Dan Fields and Elijah Walker.
