The Lincoln Parish School Board convened on August 3 at 6:00 PM in the recently built STEM Center at Ruston Junior High School to review the budget and discuss the upcoming fall. In the wake of Governor John Bel Edwards’ mask mandate, the board will require all children, kindergarten and up, to be masked. Superintendent Ricky Durrett notified the board that buses will be sanitized every morning, and teachers will clean desks everyday before school. With that said, the School Board’s goal is to have every student attend school every day in-person. Most classes will be inside, but some classes may potentially be held outside. The school year is still scheduled to start August 19 for all children, 1st through 12th grades. PreK and Kindergarten testing will begin August 20.
