The Lincoln Parish Library Board of Control met on August 18, with eight of the nine members attending, and the addition of attorney Lewis Jones. Missing was Jan Canterbury. The board received an update on the recognition committee that was recently created to celebrate George Byrnside, Jack Beard, and Sam Williams, all of whom contributed significantly to the formation and maintenance of the library. Alan Brown, a local resident, will lead the committee in organizing the celebration with the help of library interim director Marcie Nelson.
