The Louisiana Tech Soccer team looks to rebound tonight as they travel to Louisiana College with kickoff set for 7 p.m. at Wildcat Field in Pineville.
LA Tech is coming off a season-opening 3-2 loss at Murray State. The Lady Techsters took a two-goal advantage in the first half with goals by Emma Jones and Maci Geltmeier, but the Racers netted three unanswered goals to come away with the win.
Geltmeier, a sophomore, is tied for the team lead in points after two matches, having totaled five on two goals and one assist. Freshman Lauren Egbuloniu also has five points, which includes the game-winning goal in the season opener versus East Texas Baptist.
The next four matches for the Lady Techsters come against in-state foes.
LA Tech is accustomed to bouncing back after a loss. Not since 2015 have they lost back-to-back non-conference games.
Nine different players have registered a point through the first two matches as the team has combined for 11 goals scored. Libe Banuelos has seen the most time in net so far, playing 135 minutes while registering 12 total saves.
Louisiana College (0-0) competes on the NAIA level in the Red River Athletic Conference. The Wildcats went 0-4-0 last season with losses to East Texas Baptist, LeTourneau and Belhaven.
This will be the third ever meeting between LA Tech and Louisiana College. The Lady Techsters defeated the Wildcats by a score of 11-0 in Pineville in 2012 and 8-0 in Ruston in 2014.
