Man arrested after Lincoln Parish chase

A man who committed a minor traffic violation on Interstate 20 compounded his problems when he attempted to elude a Louisiana state trooper attempting to stop him last week.

A trooper was traveling eastbound on I-20 on March 27 when a vehicle was observed crossing the fog line on the right side of the roadway. When the trooper attempted to stop it, the vehicle continued on for a considerable distance before taking exit 78, where it crossed the center yellow lane marker into the opposing lane on La. Highway 563. The vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign at La. Highway 150 and continued, refusing to stop for the trooper, reaching speeds of 125 miles per hour.

The vehicle eventually came to a stop in an apartment complex at La. 150 and South Pine Tree Road in Grambling where the driver exited and fled on foot. Despite commands to stop, the driver refused to comply. After about 150 yards, the driver fell down behind a residence and gave up.

Eric L. Brown, Jr. 29, of Arcadia, was taken into custody. Brown told the trooper he was running because he was scared. He was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for driving under suspension, aggravated flight from an officer, resisting an officer, illegal window tint, and improper lane usage.
