Ten students from Cedar Creek School represented Louisiana at the DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Orlando, Florida.
These students qualified to compete at this event during their state competition in February. DECA ICDC brings together over 26,000 high school students from around the world, all developing their skills in marketing, finance, hospitality, entrepreneurship, and management.
DECA Inc. is a global nonprofit organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in these fields, providing a program that combines classroom learning with real-world application, connects students to business, and promotes competition, ensuring they are college- and career-ready. ICDC is the culmination of DECA’s competitive events, where students demonstrate their abilities in business scenarios.

Cedar Creek’s qualifying students included Zoey Venters, Madeline Kneeland, and Anna Grace Johnson in Project Management – Sales Project; Anderson Godlewski, Audrey Barron, and Taylor Basham in Integrated Marketing Campaign; Amelia Reynolds in Business Services Operations Research; Julianne Bush in Professional Selling; Jillian Ramsey in Restaurant and Food Service Management; and Rex Freling in Marketing Communications.
These students demonstrated exceptional dedication and talent in their respective fields, reflecting the school’s commitment to fostering excellence in business education. Their participation highlights the importance of programs like DECA in shaping the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs as they prepare to compete on a global stage.
