Woman charged with thefts at job site

A Ruston woman was arrested last week after she allegedly stole items from a fellow employee and a client at the facility where she worked.

Brykeisa T. Richard, 33, was arrested on December 4 after she was allegedly captured on video stealing from another employee’s wallet at a facility on Frazier Road in Lincoln Parish.

The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the facility regarding the report of the theft. The manager said Richard was seen on video stealing from another employee’s wallet. The video showed Richard going into the victim’s purse and removing her debit cards from a wallet and placing them in her own jacket pocket

Richard was questioned by deputies and admitted the theft from the wallet.

A records check showed Richard was wanted for failure to appear in Ruston City Court on a theft charge.

During a search of Richard’s purse, a deputy located a wallet containing identification and debit cards for another person. The owner of the wallet was contacted and stated she had reported it stolen about a month earlier when she had been a client of the facility.

Richard was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for two counts of theft, illegal possession of stolen things, and the Ruston City Court warrant.
