Woman arrested at Ruston disturbance

Ruston Police arrested a local woman for disturbing the peace and outstanding warrant after responding to a disturbance last Thursday.

Kristie Haughton, 38, of Ruston, was arrested on December 11 after the police responded to an East Texas Avenue residence regarding a disturbance.

Officers found Haughton at the scene yelling and threatening to fight them. She was detained and a records check showed two outstanding warrants for failure to appear in Ruston City Court on charges of possession of marijuana and disturbing the peace by appearing intoxicated in public.

Officers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Haughton’s breath. She was arrested and had to be forcibly placed in the backseat of a patrol vehicle because she resisted in getting inside. She was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for disturbing the peace by appearing intoxicated in public and the two Ruston City Court warrants.
