Ruston Police responded to the intersection of East California Avenue and South Vienna Street about 2:00 a.m. last Wednesday where they found a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria apparently stopped in traffic even after the traffic light turned green.
Officers found Johnny Lee Freeman, 41, asleep behind the steering wheel. Freeman awoke as officers prepared to open the vehicle’s doors, an arrest report said.
The car had been stolen in Caldwell Parish.
Freeman reportedly told police he bought the car from another man.
Freeman was booked into the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for illegal possession of stolen things and simple obstruction of a roadway.
