The Louisiana Committee on Parole will conduct live parole hearings on the campus of Louisiana Tech University. The hearings are part of the Committee’s ongoing commitment to transparency, public access, and community engagement in the parole decision-making process.
The hearings will take place Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Wyly Tower Auditorium.
Conducting these hearings at Louisiana Tech allows students to witness the post-conviction criminal justice process firsthand. It is a goal to engage students in hopes of recruiting the next generation of criminal justice professionals. Hosting hearings in different regions of the state allows the Committee to ensure meaningful participation by victims, prosecutors, and members of the public while maintaining a strong focus on public safety.
All hearings are conducted in accordance with Louisiana law and established procedures. Members of the public may attend. Seating will be limited, and all attendees are expected to adhere to applicable security protocols, such as search of person and bags prior to entry and conduct requirements.
