A graveside service for Nellie Merritt Moreland, 79, of Ruston, LA, will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Springhill Cemetery in Springhill, LA. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston, LA.
Before retirement, Nellie was a purchasing agent for Willamette Industries for over 30 years. Once retired from Willamette, she then worked for Micky Mays as a business manager.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Moreland, and her parents, Woodrow and Lucille Canterbury Wilks.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Kerry Merritt and wife Melodi of West Monroe, LA, and daughter, Allison Merritt of Baton Rouge, LA, grandchildren, Mitchell Merritt and wife Tabitha and Madi-K Merritt, as well as a host of other family and friends.
