Louisiana Tech, Grambling State and Lincoln Preparatory School made decisions Thursday on their classes, while the other local high schools and elementary schools will find out their fate today.

After the National Weather Service issues a Winter Storm Warning for north Louisiana Thursday afternoon, Louisiana Tech officials made the decision to cancel classes starting today with any class starting after 12 p.m. and then all of Monday and Tuesday.

Tech sent out messaging around 3 p.m. Thursday with the decision, stating it wanted to “accommodate students who wish to travel home ahead of the weather.”

The University “plans to reopen and resume classes as normal on Wednesday (Jan. 28). This includes operations at Barksdale and the Academic Success Center in Bossier City.”

Grambling State announced Wednesday that it was sending classes online.  GSU moved all Thursday afternoon classes to virtual delivery.

“Operations and classes will continue with virtual delivery on Friday, January 23, and Monday, January 26. Essential employees will report to campus as directed.”

The University announced that its home basketball games were being rescheduled. GSU’s basketball doubleheader originally scheduled for tomorrow versus Mississippi Valley State has been postponed and rescheduled for Monday, February 23.

Monday night’s men’s basketball home game versus UPAB has been moved to Tuesday, January 27 and will tip off at 6:30.
