Funeral services for Rhoda Holtzclaw, 85, of Choudrant, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Officiating the service is Rev. Johnathan Strain. Interment will follow at Sibley Cemetery in Choudrant, LA. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home.
Rhoda was a member of Alabama Presbyterian church. She had a deep love for Elvis and found joy in music, often playing the piano and surrounding herself with songs that brought her happiness. She cherished her time spent outdoors, whether working in her yard or tending to her flower beds. Above all, she was devoted to her family. Her life was centered on her faith, togetherness of family and friends, and the love she shared with those closest to her, including her beloved animals.
She had a special affection for babies and children, and she embraced life with warmth and enthusiasm. A devoted football fan, she especially loved the Saints and admired Drew Brees. She also enjoyed staying connected with family and friends on Facebook delighting in photos and shared moments.
In her younger years, she worked as a Beautician and worked many years as a Nurse’s Aid. She had a passion for fishing, and also found simple pleasures in watching her pet birds as well as the wild birds, appreciating the beauty in the world around her.
Rhoda was preceded in death by her husband; Shorty Holtzclaw; son, Timohty Martin and daughter in law Carrissa Martin; granddaughter in law, Brittany Martin, great grandchild, Brillegh Martin; sister, Cody Wagner; brother, Lane Caldwell.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Angela Daniel and husband Mike; sons Ricky Martin, George Hemphill and wife Christina; grandchildren David Daniel and wife Nicole, Alisha Jones and husband Thomas, Timohty James Martin, Jimmy Shelton Martin, Hunter Martin, Bethany Hemphill, Dylan Hemphill; great grandchild Calleigh Jones; sister, Annette Freeman, and brother Larry Caldwell and wife Tommee; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
