Funeral services for Dana Danee Lewis, a beloved daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, age 64 of Choudrant, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 13, 2026 at Owens Memorial Chapel with Pastor Christopher Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
Danee was born June 27, 1961 in Ruston, LA to Texie Arlene Korn and Frankie Edward Knighten and passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026 in Choudrant, LA. She was the heart of our family and known for her loving personality, kindness, unmatched devotion to our family, and unashamed love for The Lord. She spent her life creating a loving home for her family. Danee enjoyed planting flowers, spending time with her loved ones any chance she got, watching the birds in her yard, listening to praise and worship music, and going to church. She was our biggest cheerleader and best friend. Her faith was unwavering, and she took great pride in sharing the love of Jesus. Her caring heart touched the lives of many.
Danee is preceded in death by her brother, Randy Knighten; step-father, Wayne Kennedy; and her uncle, Luther Holloway. She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Christopher Michael Lewis; son, Dylan Keith Atteberry, and wife Andrea; daughter, Carley Dana Howard, and husband Charles; mother, Texie Korn Kennedy; father, Frankie Edward Knighten; her cherished grandchildren, Aiden Trexler, Addilynn Atteberry, and Oliver Mann; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be: son, Dylan Atteberry; grandson, Aiden Trexler; son-in-law, Charles Mann; nephew, Billy Lewis, Jr.; nephew, Justin Lewis; and friend, Robert Wise.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until time of service Monday at Owens Memorial Chapel.
