RUSTON, La. — Following head coach LaShanda Cooper’s first season at the helm of the Lady Bearcat Basketball program, four Bearcats were named to the All-District 2-5A team.
Senior forward Kiersynce McNeal was named to the first-team, while sophomore Gioia Tatum earned second-team honors.
Both sophomore Angelica Green and seniors Jasmine Summerford also garnered honorable mention honors.
“Each of these remarkable young ladies faced their own set of challenges but showed incredible resilience and growth throughout the season,” Cooper said. “As a team, they truly stepped up in district play, displaying an unwavering determination and heart. Despite the adversity we encountered, including injuries, and falling short of a district title, these players never wavered. They remained coachable, demonstrated exceptional leadership, and gave their absolute best effort. Their dedication, passion, and commitment to the game were evident in every moment, and they should be proud of the incredible progress they made together.”
