
A man deemed a habitual shoplifter was arrested in Ruston last week after he returned to a store where he had allegedly stolen merchandise before.
Dontrell Traman Williams, 35, of Avondale, La., was arrested on April 26 after a patrol officer located him near the store after learning of the theft.
A Ruston Police patrol officer wasperforming a walk-through check of the Neighborhood Walmart when told a man had just shoplifted some items and left the store. The officer located Williams nearby and found about $130 of cleaning products hidden inside his jacket.
Willaims had been banned from the store for “multiple previous shopliftings,” according to the officer’s report.
Williams was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for theft by shoplifting and entering premises after being forbidden.
