Ruston motorist flees police

A Ruston man was arrested April 25 after he fled an officer’s attempt to stop him for an equipment violation.

D’Angelo Harper, 21, was booked for aggravated flight from an officer and inoperable headlight after he fled Ruston Police.

Harper allegedly turned down a side street off Martin Luther King Drive when a patrol car approached. When the officer turned on his emergency lights, Harper sped away.

The officer’s report notes the siren was activated but Harper ran several stop signs trying to evade police. The officer eventually caught up to Harper who was arrested and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
