Ruston man wanted on warrants located

Ruston Police arrested a local man July 21 after responding to a report of domestic violence and finding he was wanted on warrants.

Xavier Winters, 48, was arrested for two counts of failure to appear in Ruston City Court and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers had responded to a report of a possible domestic abuse incident on West California Avenue and found Winters. When asked if he had been involved in a domestic situation, Winters said no. A records check showed he was wanted on the two City Court warrants.

After Winters was arrested and handcuffed, a search found a clear plastic pipe commonly used for smoking crack cocaine.

Winters was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
