An 18-year-old Monroe man was arrested on the Grambling State University campus after he initially lied to police and said that he was a student.
Augustine Kwentoh was arrested for trespassing by remaining on the premises after being forbidden right in the evening on August 3.
GSU police officers on a foot patrol through the Feshman Village saw Kwentoh walking. Officers made contact and inquired if he was a student. He initially said yes, but could not provide a student ID card or name a place of residence on campus.
After more questioning, Kwentoh finally stated he was not a student and that he was from Monroe and visiting with a group of friends.
Kwentoh was told to leave the campus and not to return.
Several hours later at about 9:50 p.m., officers saw Kwentoh quickly turned in a different direction. Kwentoh’s movements were apparent to officers that he was attempting to evade them.
Several officers converged on Douglas Hall and located Kenneth inside and he was placed under arrest.
