
A Ruston teenager was shot and killed in southeast Ruston early Thursday morning, according to a spokesperson at the Ruston Police Department.
Lieutenant Kayla Loyd, public information officer for the Ruston Police Department, said the shooting occurred about 3:00 a.m. in the 700 block of Second Avenue.
A 15-year-old male was found wounded and was taken to Northern Louisiana Medical Center. He later died of his injuries. The identity of the victim has not been released.
“An investigation is underway as officers and investigators work to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and identify those who are responsible,” Loyd said.

The Ruston Police Department and Lincoln Parish Crime Stoppers are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this death.
