Traffic stop yields drugs

A man stopped for a traffic violation by the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office last week was arrested after several types of drugs were found in his vehicle.

Jordan Houston, 27, of Ruston, was stopped for failure to signal a turn as he was driving on Fletcher Lane on March 27.

When a deputy approached the vehicle, he noticed Houston’s eyes were glazed glassy and watery. Suspected marijuana gleanings were seen on the center console area of the vehicle.

When questioned, Houston said he had consumed marijuana prior to driving.

A female passenger said when the vehicle came to a stop, Houston threw something across the cab at her. A search located two plastic baggies containing marijuana, THC wax, and alprazolam.

Houston was arrested and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for possession of marijuana, possession of THC, possession of alprazolam, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstruction of justice, and failure to signal a turn.
